Coach Carly

Carly has been coaching for the Quesnel Figure Skating Club since 2015. She embraces each skaters individuality and supports them to do their very best. We asked Carly what she loves most about coaching and here’s what she had to say…

“My favourite part about coaching skating is seeing our skaters grow as people. The technical elements and fancy tricks are icing on the cake, it’s the life skills they learn in our sport that will change their lives. They become personally responsible for their successes, and they’re given opportunity to persevere through physical and mental struggles and become the best version of themselves.”

Coach Dacia

Dacia is entering her 13th year as a coach with the Quesnel Figure Skating Club. We asked Dacia what she loves most about coaching and here’s what she had to say…

“As a coach I love getting to share the love for my sport with others. From working with the Canskaters who are just beginning and are learning to take their first steps on the ice to working with our advanced skaters mastering a variety of skills. As a coach I want all of the skaters to find enjoyment on the ice and feel they are encouraged to take chances to push themselves to learn new skills. I am looking forward to being at the rink, lacing up my skates, and coaching skating this year.”

Coach Riley

Riley is entering her 6th year of coaching with the Quesnel Figure Skating Club. We asked Riley what she loves most about coaching and here’s what she had to say…

“What I enjoy about coaching is that I really get to know the kids, their strengths, weaknesses, how they learn and what motivates them. I love to witness the kids progression throughout the season and feel their sense of accomplishment. I love to see the athletes set goals over the season and work toward them. I grew up passionate about figure skating so I love when the kids show a true sense of enjoyment and fulfilment in their skating.”
